A funny little moment.

These few days have been windy, and the fallen leaves and twigs are blown everywhere.

This afternoon as I was getting ready to go shopping I saw my husband sweeping the driveway particularly in front of the garage.
"What's the point of clearing leaves from the drive way on the day like this?"
Watching the leaves carried away by the wind with the loud rattling noise, I asked him.
"Because the leaves blow into the garage and pile up otherwise."
I had a little chuckle at the way the leaves kept escaping from the dustpan as I heard that.

ここのところ、風の強い日が数日続いているから落ち葉や小枝があちこちに飛んでいる。
午後、ワタシが買い物に出るのに身支度をしていると、ウチのダンナ様が家の私道、特に車庫の前を掃いているのが見えた。
「こんな日に私道の落ち葉を掃きとるなんて、無駄じゃん？」
がさがさ音をたてて風に吹き飛ばされている落ち葉を見ながらワタシがそう聞くと、
「そうしないと、車庫の中に葉が全部舞い込んで来て溜まるじゃないか！」
そんな事を聞きながら、ちりとりから葉が逃げ出し続ける様子にくすっと笑ってしまった。
